GREY EYES

The African Samurai

Status: In Development  ·  Director: Gael Olivier  ·  Nairobi, Kenya

"In modern-day Nairobi, a young African samurai confronts his brother's criminal empire to restore his master's honor — and discovers that true honor may mean ending the bloodline of vengeance itself."

Synopsis

Raised in the discipline of a forgotten dojo hidden in the hills outside Nairobi, a young warrior returns to a city transformed by his own brother's rise to power. Grey Eyes follows his path from student to reluctant weapon, as loyalty, family and honor collide against the backdrop of a modern African metropolis rendered with the visual language of classic samurai cinema.

Visual World

Grey Eyes fuses the silhouettes and steel of samurai film tradition with Nairobi's skyline, matatu culture and street textures — built through a hybrid live-action and animated pipeline developed in-house at Tribal.
